HIRE THE RIGHT PERSON TO THE RIGHT JOB – THE MOST IMPORTANT PROCESSES IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

Recruitment is one of the main roles that comes under Human Resource Management of an organization. It is the process of sourcing, attracting, shortlisting, interviewing, signing, hiring and onboarding the right employee to the right position of the organization. The organizational performance depends on the performance of the employees. Therefore, it is very important to select the right the candidate to the right position.

How important is a strong recruitment process to an organization?

Recruitment helps the organization to build a pool of talented players in a competitive market, which the organization can remodel and guide to perform better to achieve organizational targets. The well planned, strong recruitment process helps the hiring team filter the right candidates faster while staying focused on engaging the eligible candidates for maximum adaptability. The process also reflects the company’s professionalism, brand and helps to attract the right kind of candidates while saving the time and money spent on going into the same processes again and again. Recruitment can be made internally, externally, through a recruitment agency, temporary recruiting and outsourcing the process.

 What are tips a Human Resource Management can follow when hiring a candidate? 

1) Define the job clearly –It is important to define the job scope and responsibilities as clear and accurate in the job posting as the candidate should know their job before they apply.  It will allow the applicant to understand whether he is suited for the role or not and what it expected through him or her from the organization.

2) Prescreen your candidates – Prescreen the candidates will help you to cut your process short. Prescreening interviews take place mostly through a phone conversation. The applicant may look good on the paper but the conversation with him or her will help the organization to identify whether he or she truly fits enough for the job, his or her salary expectation and attitudes.

3) Review credentials and qualifications carefully – It is important to check the references of the credentials and the qualification the candidate refers to before interviewing the candidate.

 4) Ask the right job interview questions – You have to make sure that your interview questions are aligned with the role to get the most accurate answers out of the candidate as that will your only chance to make a judgement through clarification.

5) Get ‘social’ with your candidates – It is a common factor that every one has a social media presence. Therefore, be it LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, you can have a glance and get insights of the candidate's personality and if he or she fits the culture of the company.

Conclusion 

Recruitment is one of the most important tasks carried out by a human resource division of an organization and all the performance of the organization depends on the candidates recruited by the organization. The process of recruitment has to be carefully built and reviewed to find the right person for the right job.
